Yoga came into being way ahead of plastics and rubbers. The exercises were built upon one single principle; the principle of oneness and yoga practitioners would generally weave a mat using grass and cloth. This was a natural practice and the mat so weaved wasn’t meant for comfort alone but also to gain an efficient state of practice. The grass and cloth so used were easily available and they served a fine complement to the human body offering comfort, peace and relaxation in equal measures.

With the West adopting yoga to their routine, these natural elements slowly took a backseat and were soon replaced by rubbers and plastics put together. Yoga had its foundation dating back to centuries and with modern day innovations slowly invading our lives, the true foundations of yoga has somewhere receded in the backdrop. Think about it. For over centuries, men, women and children alike have been regularly practising yoga without the comfort of luxury studios. Undoubtedly, there has been a string of improvements to techniques and the way the exercises are being performed but in essence it has somewhere lost its charm and utility. One such important consideration is the foundation that rests your body, a foundation that should be strong as well as natural and befitting enough for the human body to bask in the goodness of yoga.

Yoga is never meant to excite your inner self. Instead, it was discovered to soothe your senses and embrace the world around you with deep and profound feelings.
